One of the recent two wheeler launched in the adventure motorcycle segment is the KTM 390 Adventure. It was one of the most anticipated mototrcycle from the brand ever since they had showcased it in the India Bike Week last year. Now they have launched it at Rs 2.99 lakh ex-showroom. The KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle competes with Hero XPulse, Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G 310 GS in the affordable adventure motorcycle segment. The 390 Adventure has already started reaching the dealerships and some have already bought one too. Here is a video that explains how the new 390 Adventure feels to ride, and also the time it takes to do the 0-100 Kph sprint.
Video has been uploaded by Ayush Verma on his youtube channel. Video starts from a dealership where unveiling or launch of the 390 Adventure was taking place along with BS6 Duke 390 and other bikes. After the launch youtuber takes the bike out for a quick spin and the first thing that came to his mind after riding the bike was the throttle response. It responded very quick and also felt very good to handle because of the wide handle bars.
One of the main drawback that the Youtuber says on video about the bike was the seat height. KTM 390 Adventure has a seat height of 855 mm which is too much for an average Indian rider. He wanted KTM to come up with a solution so that it can be enjoyed by all the riders equally. The ride comfort felt pretty good and the there was enough suspension travel as well.
Later in the video he does the 0-100 kmph run. According to the video, the all-new KTM Adveture took around 6.07 seconds which is quick for a bike in this segment. Overall, the rider was impressed with the bike as a package and his only suggestion to KTM was to do something about the ride height.
KTM 390 Adventure is feature loaded motorcycle. It gets a host of features like lean sensitive traction control, turn by turn navigation using KTM’s MyRide smartphone app on the full colour TFT display. It gets has alloy wheel, disc brakes on both wheels with switchable ABS. The motorcycle also gets cornering ABS, making it quite a safe machine. Coming to the engine, KTM 390 Adventure uses the same 373-cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that generates a maximum of 43 Bhp and 37 Nm of torque. The engine is now BS6 compliant and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick shifter which is a feature that is not offered by the competition at the moment.
