Royal Enfield motorcycles are quite popular in the country and have a very cult following. It is one of the most popular bike among modifiers and we have seen several examples of modified Royal Enfield motorcycles in the past. Currently Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are the flagship models from the brand. Here we have a video that shows a drag race between two Royal Enfield Interceptor 650s, one with a stock exhaust and the other installed with Barrel Atom aftermarket exhaust. It is one of the most affordable aftermarket exhaust available in the market.

The video has been uploaded by Ali Kidwai on his Youtube channel. The riders chose a straight stretch of highway and the race was conducted in two rounds. In the first round, both Interceptor move off the start line almost at the same time but within few seconds, the bike with Barrel Atom exhaust took the lead and the maintained it till the end. The bike with aftermarket exhaust kept of building the lead and the one with stock exhaust was struggling to overtake it. Clearly the first round went in favour of the bike with aftermarket exhaust.

Before starting the second round, riders swapped motorcycles and the result remained the same. The only difference this time around the gap between both the motorcycles was less than the first round. The Barrel Atom exhaust does not claim that it increases the power of the motorcycle but it is way more lighter than the stock version. It should be noted that both motorcycles are exactly the same except for the aftermarket exhaust.

A lighter exhaust means the bike becomes lighter and the acceleration and throttle response also improves and that is what resulted in the Interceptor 650 winning both the rounds. Interceptor 650 is the most affordable twin cylinder motorcycle one can buy in the country at the moment. It is powered by a 648-cc, parallel-twin cylinder, fuel injected, oil cooled engine. The engine generates a maximum of 47 Bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. A 6 speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, and so is a slipper clutch. Royal Enfield will soon launch a brand new 350-cc, cruiser motorcycle which will be based on a new platform and engine. The launch is expected to happen next month.
