Honda Cars India has just thrown open bookings for their next big launch – the all-new, 2020 5th generation City sedan. The car will be launched next month, and even as you’re reading this, CarToq’s team members are driving the new car. We’ll not be able to give you our first impressions of the new Honda City until the 30th of this month as there’s an embargo on opinions and pictures of the new car.
What we can tell you is, the new Honda City is substantially larger than the 4th generation model, which will continue to be on sale alongside the new version. The 5th generation Honda City sedan will get a slew of new features, and will be offered with mild-hybrid petrol and turbocharged diesel engines. While the petrol engine will get manual and CVT automatic gearboxes, the diesel engined model will get a 6 speed manual at the outset, with a CVT automatic gearbox set to follow a few months down the line.
Meanwhile, here’s a list of key features that’ll be on offer with the new car: Full LED headlamps, Z- Shaped wrap-around LED Tail lamp, 17.7 cm HD full color TFT meter with G-meter, LaneWatch camera, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Agile Handling Assist (AHA), 20.3 cm Advanced Touchscreen Display Audio, Smartphone Connectivity with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Weblink, One-Touch Electric Sunroof, Alexa remote capability, Honda Connect with Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and a body made of super high formability 980 MPa grade steel.
