Tata Motors launched their first premium hatchback – the Altroz – in the Indian market in the beginning of this year. It competes with cars such as the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 in the segment. It is a decently equipped premium hatchback that looks good from the outside. Here we have a TVC from Tata Motors for the Altroz that highlights the safety aspect of their premium hatchback. The Altroz is the only car in the segment to have scored a full 5 stars in the Global NCAP crash test ratings.
The video as mentioned above has been uploaded by Tata Motors on their official youtube channel. The video simply shares all the features that it has to offer. Starting with the 90 degree wide opening doors for easy ingress and egress. The touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It come with other features like ambient lighting on dashboard, multi-function steering wheel and so on.

On the outside, it gets a sleek looking projector type headlamps, gloss black grille with a chrome strip running from one to the other. The LED DRL is integrated with the fog lamp that is positioned on the bumper. On the side it gets a a diamond cut alloy wheel and at the rear it has a dual tone boot with sleeker LED split tail lights.
The video concentrates on the safety part of the car and also mentions that it has a 5 star rating at Global NCAP crash test. Videos of Altroz during the crash test was also released by Tata few weeks ago and that clearly showed that the A,B, and C pillar of the car remained intact and the ALFA platform on which Altroz is built had absorbed all the impact keeping the occupants safe.
Tata Altroz is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol version is powered by a 1.2 litre-3 cylinder naturally aspirated engine that generates 85 PS of peak power and 114 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant uses a 1.5 litre unit that generates 90 PS of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Both petrol and diesel engines are only available with manual gearboxes as of now. A twin clutch automatic gearbox will be offered on the car sometime next year. Prices for Tata Altroz start from Rs. 5.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
