The Tata Harrier is a popular SUV in the segment and was launched in the market last year. It quickly became popular among buyers because of its looks, features, build quality and price. The Harrier competes with cars like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and MG Hector. Tata recently updated the Harrier and launched the 2020 BS6 version with minor changes in it. Here we have a video from a Harrier owner where he explain his reason for buying the Harrier SUV rather than going for Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass or MG Hector.
The video has been uploaded by AutoTube India on ther youtube channel. The vlogger starts by showing his brand new Dark Edition Harrier. He has gone for XZ trim which is one lower to the top-end trim. The Harrier Dark edition is different from regular Harriers and gets an all black treatment. As this is not the top-end trim, it gets grey coloured 5 spoke alloy wheels instead of dual tone diamond cut ones. All the chrome bits have either been removed or replaced with black elements to go with the dark theme. It also gets ‘Dark’ badge on side fender.

On the inside, the same dark theme has been followed. The dashboard, seats, steering wheels, door padding all get a dark shade. The reason why the vlogger went for Harrier, rather than MG Hector is because of the ride and handling. Even though Hector is superior to Harrier in terms of features that it offers, Harrier has a better ride quality and handles quite well.
The Jeep Compass on the other hand is a great option but, the vlogger felt that it is a bit overpriced in comparison to Harrier. He avoided going for Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta because of their smaller sizes and smaller engine. The top-end of Creta was costing him around 20 lakh which he felt is too much money for such a small car. Overall, Tata Harrier ticked all the boxes of feature, looks and engine performance and that is reason why he went for it.
Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0 litre BS6 compliant diesel engine that generates 170 PS of peak and 350 Nm of peak torque. The Tata SUV is available with both manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox option. Prices for Harrier start from Rs 13.69 lakh, ex-showroom for manual variants, and Rs 16.25 lakh, ex-showroom for automatic variant.
