Watch the 2020 Mahindra Thar show off its off road chops [Video]

Mahindra recently unveiled the all-new Thar in the Indian market. Mahindra has been teasing us with this new SUV for a long time and finally they will be launching it in the market on 2 October 2020. We recently got a chance to spend some time with the new Mahindra Thar and the review of the same is available on our youtube channel. Now, Mahindra has released a new video that shows off the off-road capabilities of the all new Thar.

The video has been uploaded by Mahindra on Thar’s official youtube channel. This short video basically exhibits the off-road capabilities of Mahindra Thar. The approach and departure angle of the SUV has improved in comparison to the older version. It gets a coil sprung solid rear axle, advanced traction control system, independent front suspension which has long travel to tackle obstacles and so on.

Apart from these features, the all new Thar gets BLD or braking lock differentials for better traction and the advanced rollover mitigation technology is also available. The all new Mahindra Thar now comes loaded with features. For the first time, Mahindra will offer Thar with a factory fitted hard top. Thar will be available in AX and LX trims. The AX trims will be available with steel wheels and soft tops and will focusing on hard core off-road enthusiasts whereas the LX will be a bit more premium looking version which will get features like 18 inch alloy wheels and hard top.

Mahindra has totally changed the interior in new Thar and it now comes with features like front facing seats for rear passengers, roof mounted speakers, touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Apple Carplay and aAndroid Auto, multi function steering wheel with cruise control and so on.

Mahindra Thar will be available with two engine options. A 2.2 litre turbocharged mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0 litre turbocharged mStallion petrol engine. Both petrol and diesel engines will be available with manual and automatic gearbox options. The diesel engine generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque whereas the petrol engine generates 150 Bhp and 320 Nmof torque. There are speculations regarding the price and according to some reports, prices for Mahindra Thar will start at Rs 9.75 lakh, ex-showroom and go up to Rs 12.25 lakh, ex-showroom. If true, this pricing will make the 2020 Thar very attractive to a large number of buyers.
