The festive season is the time that sees the maximum action in the Indian car market. All manufacturers come up with their latest offerings during this period to bring people into their dealerships. This being an auspicious time, most people buy cars. Here are 10 SUVs coming our way to celebrate the festive season:
Hyundai Tuscon
Launch: 24th October
Hyundai has been on the model offense lately. They too are trying to plug all the gaps in their portfolio. Since SUVs are popular in the Indian market, they are coming up with the new Tuscon, which will be slotted in between the Creta and the Santa Fe. Pricing is expected to start around the Rs. 18 lakh mark.
The Tuscon is a 5 seater SUV. The variant that India will get will most likely be the 2.0 liter diesel engine that comes in two states of tune, 134 Bhp and 181 Bhp. There is no clarity on which tune India will get. It will also be offered with both manual and automatic options, like the Creta.
Toyota Fortuner
Launch: 7th November
Ever since the diesel ban took place in Delhi NCR, Toyota has been very vocal on stopping future products for the Indian market due to uncertainty. However the Fortuner was losing out to the Endeavour due to it being a newer product. In a bid to take back market share, Toyota will be launching the new Fortuner in India in November.
The Fortuner will get both a 2.4 liter (148 Bhp & 400 Nm) and a 2.8 liter (177 Bhp & 450 Nm). Manual and automatic options will also be on offer. The main changes to the car are on the outside and inside both. The car looks more flamboyant now. Also the interiors have been spruced up quite a bit.
Tata Hexa
Launch: November
The Hexa is claimed to be one of the best products that Tata has made till date. The car is expected to be launched later this month or early next month. The Hexa has gained technical bits from Land Rover. The main thing that has been taken is the Terrain Response System.
The will make the Hexa come with driving mode options. Powering the Hexa is a 2.2 liter engine making 154 Bhp and 400 Nm. It will be offered with a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic gearbox as well. It will also have ambient lighting on offer for the interiors to make the car feel more premium.
Nissan Terrano AMT
Launch: November
The Terrano shares its underpinnings with the Duster. Since the Duster got the AMT back in March this year, the same AMT is expected to be launched on the Terrano as well. The Terrano will be powered by the same 1.5 liter k9k unit making 108 Bhp and 245 Nm. The engine is mated to the same 6 speed AMT that does duty on the Duster.
Jaguar F-Pace
Launch: October end/ November
Jaguar will be launching their first SUV, the F-Pace in the Indian market soon. The vehicle has already been spotted at a dealership in India and the first drives of the same are also underway. The F-Pace will only come with 2 diesel engines on offer, depending on the trim opted for.
The base 2 trims (Pure and Prestige) will be powered by the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder motor making 177 Bhp and 430 Nm. The R Sport and the First Edition version on the other hand will come only with the 3.0 liter V6 that makes 296 Bhp and 700 Nm.
