Renault has launched a special Neotech edition Kwid in the market. The new Neotech variants have been launched to celebrate the 3.5 lakh sales mark of the Kwid in the market. The limited-edition Kwid Neotech is expensive by about Rs 30,000 over the regular variant of the hatchback.
The new special variants are available with both the petrol engine options. The most highlighted feature of the new special edition Kwid is its dual-tone colour option. The hatchback is now the only model in the segment to offer a dual-tone paint job. There are two colour options – Zanskar Blue with Silver roof or Silver body with Zanskar Blue roof.

The Neotech variants also offer an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto system. There are additional features like USB socket for the front passengers, flex wheels, 3D decals on C-Pillar, Neotech branded door cladding and different seat fabric with blue highlights and stitches. Also, the AMT variants will get chrome and there is more chrome on the front grille.
The two engine options available with the Renault Kwid are a 0.8-litre engine and a 1.0-litre engine. Both the engine options are naturally-aspirated. The 0.8-litre version produces a maximum power of 54 PS at 5,678 rpm and peak torque of 72 Nm at 4,386 Nm. The 800cc engine only offers a five-speed manual transmission but the 1.0-litre engine offers an AMT as well as a manual transmission. The base price of the Kwid is Rs 3 lakh and teh top-end version, which is the Climber 1.0 AMT is pried at Rs 5.13 lakh. Renault India is also offering extended warranty option on the Kwid for up to 5 years or 1 lakh km, whichever is earlier.
There are no changes in the car mechanically. Everything else, including the suspension set-up remains the same. Renault has not announced the exact number of units or time for which the limited edition Kwid will be available in the market. However, it seems like the new variants will attract many new buyers to the showroom of the Renault India. The french manufacturer recently updated the Duster with a new turbocharged petrol engine. It is currently the most powerful vehicle in the segment. Renaul is also working on an all-new sub-4m compact SUV that will be launched by the end of this year or early next year.t
