Facelifted 2020 BMW G310 GS revealed before ofaficial launch on 8th October

BMW will launch the updated version of its entry-level bikes – G310 R and G310 GS on 8th October. Before the official launch, new pictures have revealed all about the upcoming G310 GS, which is the brand’s most affordable adventure bike. Manufacturing of both the bikes have started in the TVS plant located in Hosur. Here are the pictures of the upcoming bike.

BMW has majorly made the changes in the bike to make it BS6 compliant. However, the brand also took the opportunity to tweak the looks of the bike and a few other functional updates. BMW will introduce new multi-colour options with the new model, which makes it look much sportier than before. Add to that, new set of body graphics, that makes the bike look a completely different product. Also, G310 GS will get a new smoked-out headlamp cluster with integrated LED DRL. The turn indicators are also all-LED. The are tweaks to the design of the side panels and also the crankcase now gets a black finish.

The G310 GS continues to offer the same LCD instrument cluster, even though the more advanced TFT cluster, used by the TVS Apache RR310 was expected. For the unintiated, TVS Apache RR310 and BMW 310 twins were jointly developed by both the brands and use same chassis and engine. All the three bikes are also manufactured in the same facility.

BMW has also added the ride-by-wire system to the G310 GS. It is already available with the TVS Apache RR310. The new feature will improve the throttle response and will allow the rider to choose from various riding models. However, it is not known if BMW has enabled that feature in the updated version of the G310 GS.

The powertrain will remain identifical to the previous version of the bike. It will be a 312.2cc, liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 34 Bhp and a peak torque of 27 Nm. The engine gets a six-speed transmission that gets self-boosting and anti-hopping clutch. BMW has even updated the hand lever for brake and clutch. It will allow the riders to adjust the levers as per their convenience. There are four differents steps.

With so many updates, the price of the new BS6 compliant BMW G310 GS will increase by a thousands. By how much exactly? We will know about it on 8th October. Currently, the price is set at Rs 3.49 lakhs and a Rs 10,000 increase is expected.
