Nissan is working on its first sub-4m compact SUV, which is likely to be launched by the end of this year. Nissan has been testing the car, which will be known as Magnite in different locations in India under heavy camouflage. Here is the first picture of the upcoming Magnite without any camouflage.

This is the only picture of the car that has been posted online. The sub-4m compact SUV will be the first such vehicle from the brand and it will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and the likes. It is a highly competitive segment and the Magnite is likely to become the most affordable product in the segment.

The all-new Nissan Magnite will be built on the CMF-A+ platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Renault’s sub-4m SUV. The rear shot of the vehicle reveals a clean design of the Nissan Magnite. It gets a moniker that runs across the width of the vehicle’s tailgate. The picture also reveals that bumper looks quite muscular. It gets a silver insert that ensures a bulkier look. The car also gets split tail lamps.

Further, you will also notice the dual-tone paint layout of the Magnite with silver roof. With the deep royal blue body paint, the Magnite will offer a sporty look. The sides get protruding wheel arches adding a wide look to the car. It sure looks like a mini Nissan Kicks from the rear three quarters. At the front, the upcoming Magnite will offer a set of sleek LED headlamps with L shaped DRL positioned in the bumper.

The cabin gets a black and red colour theme with silver highlights at a few places. It will offer ant 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Nissan is likely to offer 360 degree camera system, which will be a first-in-segment feature. Other features like cruise control system, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, and more such features.

Nissan will not offer any diesel engine option with the Magnite. It will get the 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated and turbocharged versions of the same engine. The lower-end variants will get the naturally-aspirated version of the engine that will likely to produce around 70 PS of maximum power. The higher-end variants will get the 100 PS variant of the same engine with the help of a turbocharger.

Nissan is likely to launch the all-new Magnite by the end of this year or early next year. It will be an important car from the Japanese manufacturer as the current sales figure of the brand are quite dismal.
