Jaguar launches F-Pace SUV

Jaguar first showcased the F-Pace at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo with a promise to launch the vehicle later in the year. Over the past few weeks, the vehicle has been spotted on the road and in various stockyards across the country. Finally, Jaguar has gone ahead and launched the F-Pace in India. The official launch is set to take place on the 20th, however the company revealed all specifications and prices of the variants on offer.

The F-Pace is a compact 5 seat SUV and is the first SUV from the Jaguar brand. The vehicle is based on the iQ platform and the design follows a family look. The F-Pace will come with 2 engine options on offer, a 2.0 liter diesel and a 3.0 liter diesel. The 2.0 is the Ingenium 4 cylinder unit making 178 Bhp and 430 Nm where as the 3.0 liter is a V6 making 296 Bhp and 700 Nm. Both engines come mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission.

The vehicle will be available in a total of four variants, two with the 2.0 liter engine and two with the 3.0 liter engine. The base variant, the Pure and the one above that, the Prestige will come only with the 2.0 where as the R-Sport and the First edition variants will come with the 3.0. Prices for the same are : Pure: Rs 68.40 lakhs, Prestige: Rs 74.50 lakhs, R-Sport: Rs 1.02 crores, First Edition: Rs 1.12 crores.

The base variant will come equipped with 18″ alloys, 10 way electrically adjustable front seats, bi-xenon headlamps with LED day time running lamps. The Prestige will get a rear view camera in addition to that. The R-Sport will feature larger 19″ alloys along with a new body kit containing new front and rear bumpers, body coloured door cladding with satin black finish. It will also get interior mood lighting and sports seats with memory. As for the First Edition, it will have 20″ alloys, a different body kit with different bumpers and chrome finish, adaptive dynamics, panoramic sun roof and Meridian sound system.

The F-Pace will take on the Macan in the Indian market being a niche product. It may also cause a few people who want to buy the Evoque to switch over as well. Currently it can only be had in diesel though.
