Mahindra officially unveiled the all new Thar in the market back in August and they had announced the prices last month and have slowly started delivering it to customers from November. It has been topic of discussion for quite some weeks because of the looks, features and the price at which Thar is being offered. Apart from Thar, Mahindra is also working on next-generation Scorpio and XUV500. The all-new XUV500 has been spotted testing on our roads several times and here we have a new set of render images that shows how the front end of the upcoming XUV500 might look like.

The upcoming version of the XUV500 will be slightly bigger than the current version. The main reason behind it will the new platform on which it will be built. It will offer more space on the inside. The render image shows the front end and from the images, it feels like the XUV500 will be slightly wider too. The front of the SUV looks premium and has a muscular look that we Indians normally look for in an SUV.

The headlights are all LED and the LED DRLs is a long ‘L’ shaped unit that flows downward towards the bumper. As per the render, there are two LED strip and does not have any fog lamps. The front bumper is the next thing that has received some updates. It looks quite plain and fog lamp is expected to be placed somewhere there.

The front grille on the first render has vertical chrome slats. This is similar to the one seen in Mahindra’s flagship SUV Alturas G4. The chrome insert is added to give it a premium look but, we think that the other render with no chrome strips look a lot better. The dechromed version looks a lot more butch than the chromed version. These are both just artist’s renders and the exact design of the front grille will only be known once Mahindra unveils it to public.

Thee Mahindra XUV500 will be getting major updates on the inside as well. It was earlier spied with a double digital screen set up. It is similar to what we have seen in many Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Like in the case of Thar, Mahindra is expected to launch XUV500 with both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol versions would get the 2.0 litre mStallion turbo petrol engine whereas the diesel versions are expected to get a 2.2 litre mHawk engine. Both engines are expected to get a higher state of tune on the all-new XUV500. Both engine options might get automatic transmission option and it is not known whether the 2021 XUV500 will get an AWD option or not. It’s very likely to get an all wheel drive layout as Mahindra has always marketed the XUV500 as a highly capable crossover that can do most thing that true blue SUVs can.
