Nissan was working on their new sub-4 meter compact SUV for quite some time. They finally launched it in the market and is known as Magnite. Nissan Magnite is a sub-4 meter compact SUV that competes with cars like Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 in the market. Nissan had announced the prices for this new compact SUV and it is currently the most affordable SUV in this segment. Starting price for Nissan Magnite is Rs 4.99 lakh, ex-showroom and even the top-end trim is priced under Rs 10 lakh. The top-end trim of Magnite has number of features but here we have a video that shows what all things does the base XE variant of Magnite offers.
The video starts by showing the exterior of the Magnite. Like base variant of any other car, Nissan Magnite also misses out on features like LED headlamps and DRLs. Instead, it gets halogen headlamps and instead of DRL it gets a chrome garnish on the bumper. The front grille however continues to get the chrome brackets with new Nissan logo on it. It also misses out on dual tone skid plate and LED fog lamps.

Moving to the side profile, the main difference is the wheels. It gets 16 inch steel rims and the turn indicators are mounted on the fender. The ORVMs are black but it offers roof rails which many other SUVs in this segment do not offer with entry level models. The door handles are also body coloured and not black. The base XE variant does not offer central locking system as well.
Moving to the rear, it offers a roof mounted spoiler and their is a rear windscreen wiper as well. The Magnite badging can be seen on the boot with black skid plate and parking sensors on it. Overall, even the base variant of Magnite does offer some features and is not that bad to look at.
Moving inside, the base variant gets a dual tone cabin. As expected, it does not offer entertainment system, digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls and so on. All four windows on Magnite XE trim get power windows and it also offers dual air bags and ABS. Magnite also offers manually adjustable ORVM and adjustable headrests for front and rear seats. Apart from these, it misses out on split seat and central armrest for rear seats.
Nissan Magnite is offered with a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. The base XE trim is available with the naturally aspirated version with a manual gearbox. This engine generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of peak torque. Nissan Magnite offers decent list of features even with the base variant and is actually a value for money product in this price range.
