Important things first. The Pravaig Extinction will get powered by a 96 kWh battery pack. It powers an electric motor that generates a maximum power of 150 kW, which roughly translates into 200 PS. With that much power, the Pravaig Extinction can do 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. The battery pack can be recharged through fast charging and it can reach the level of 80 per cent from zero in just 30 minutes. The details of the fast charging system are not known. With the Pravaig Extinction, the manufacturer aims to offer battery performance like the Tesla vehicles while luxurious features that are as good as an S-Class. However, it should be noted that Pravaig is yet to reveal the interior or show any glimpse of the same.
But Pravaig claims that the cabin will offer a lounge-like ambience. Just like the Volvo XC90 Excellence, the Pravaig Extinction will offer the passengers an extended leg room so that they can travel in a relaxed posture. Without showing any images of the cabin, Pravaig has revealed that the left rear passenger seat can be reclined to about 165 degrees, which is almost flat. Pravaig has also tried up architects, fashion designers and interior design professionals from around the world to help to design the cabin. The music system, for example, is designed by Devialet Audi Technology, a France-based manufacturer.
Pravaig has also made a claim that they have safety as their top priority. They have also claimed that the Extinction meets 5-star safety rating but we are not sure if the vehicle has been tested by any NCAP or tests have been done by the team internally. The car will come packed with features like autonomous driving but these features are subjected to approvals from the Government of India. The vehicle also gets battery packs that can be swapped, HEPA air filters and a total of 8 airbags.
On the outside, the Extinction gets an aerodynamic design and it will be launched as a four-door sedan for easy access to the rear seats. The front gets LED projectors as headlamps and there is a lightbar similar to the Kia Seltos and Tesla Cybertruck. Electric car culture is still at a novice phase in India. After the likes of Reva-i, Mahindra E2O, currently, the Indian electric market offers vehicles like Tata Nexon EV, Hyundai Kona EV, MG ZS EV and luxury SUV – the Mercedes-Benz EQ.
