Ford EcoSport owner uses 2020 Mahindra Thar for office commute & details his experience

Mahindra Thar has been one of the most awaited car launches this year. Mahindra had been teasing us with spy pictures of the SUV for a very long time and finally they launched it in the market few months ago. Thar as we all know has a very huge fan following and is loved by those who do off-roading. It is a proper SUV but, is the new Mahindra Thar a suitable for daily commute inside city? Here we have a video that shows a vlogger who shares his experience with the Mahindra Thar after he took it to office.

The video has been uploaded by DCV on their youtube channel. The video starts with the vlogger explaining why he had gone for an automatic transmission over manual. The main reason behind is the city traffic and his formal office dress. The vlogger also owns a Ford EcoSport diesel manual and one of the main issues he used to face while driving it in the city was that he had use the clutch all the time.

Heavy city traffic and a combination of formal shoes meant he had a pain in his left leg by the time he reached office. In order to make things easier for himself he chose Thar automatic and he is absolutely loving it. Main relief he has with the Thar is that his left foot is completely free as it is an automatic version. The Thar is giving him a comfortable driving position, good view out of the window, road presence and he does not have to worry about the potholes as well.

The Thar feels smooth of tarmac and he says that there is a bit of body roll as well. He is not complaining about that because he had done his research before buying the vehicle and was expecting this. It is a soft top convertible version that the vlogger is driving but the cabin feels fairly silent. There is not much of the outside noise filtering inside but, it is not as great as the hard top version. The convertible soft top makes noise when it is driven above the speed of 80 kmph but, it is not something too inconvenient to vlogger.

In terms of features, the soft top convertible version gets touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and roof mounted speakers. It gets power windows for the front and even the rear passengers get front facing seats. Overall, the vlogger was quite impressed with the Thar and can be heard saying that he is going to shift from Ford EcoSport to Thar and make it his daily vehicle to commute to office.

All-new Mahindra Thar is based on a new platform and is wider and longer than the older version. That simply translates to more space on the inside. There are several features that are available in Thar for the first time. power window, touchscreen, speakers, hard top are some of them. It now comes with a petrol and diesel engine and both come with manual and automatic transmission option. Vlogger says that if anyone is planning to buy a Thar for office commute, then they should go for automatic version only.
