Toyota has been working on couple of facelifted versions of their existing popular models for quite some time. They recently launched the facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta and now they are preparing to launch the facelifted Fortuner which they have been testing for quite some time. The facelifted version of Toyota Fortuner gets cosmetic changes from the current version and is expected to launched in the market early next year. facelifted version of Fortuner will be launched in January 2021. Some of the Toyota dealerships have even started accepting bookings for the Fortuner unofficially.
Toyota Fortuner is a popular full luxury SUV sold in the country. It is competing with the likes of Ford Endeavour and recently launched MG Gloster in the segment. The updated version of Fortuner is already on sale in other Asian markets. As mentioned, facelifted version of Fortuner gets minor cosmetic changes to give it a fresh look and keep it relevant in the segment.

Talking about the changes, Fortuner gets redesigned front with sleek looking headlamps. The headlamps itself have the same old design but, it now gets an integrates LED DRLs. The bumper itself has been redesigned too. it looks a lot more muscular with the honeycomb design around LED fog lamps. There is silver skid plate and the turn indicators are placed lower on the bumper. With all these new updates, the SUV does look premium from the front.
Coming to the side profile of the car, the Fortuner retains the same design language as the current version. Coming to the rear profile, the main difference is the split LED DRL. Apart from that, it gets the same old bumper with reflectors on the lower part. On the inside, the Fortuner will have an updated cabin too. It will get an updated touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, 360 degree camera, wireless phone charger and so on.
With all these changes, the price for Toyota Fortuner will definitely go up. Coming to the engine and transmission of the 2021 Fortuner, it will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The existing 2.8 litre diesel engine is expected to be updated and it will generate a maximum of 204 Ps and 500 Nm of peak torque. This engine is already available in the international market. The petrol version of the Fortuner will be powered by a 2.7 litre engine that generates 117 Ps and 245 Nm of torque. Both petrol and diesel versions are available with manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota is also planning to launch the much more sportier looking version of Fortuner in the Indian market. It is known as Legender and is already available in international markets. It is a sportier looking iteration of regular Fortuner which gets a different grille, different set of lights and offers a couple of more features too. Toyota will be selling both Fortuner and Legender side by side and is expected to be introduced in our market after regular facelifted version of Fortuner is launched. As it is a more premium version of Fortuner, it will be expensive too.
