Specs
The manufacturer has not officially revealed any details about the engine. However, according to media reports, Bolero Neo will come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 100 bhp. The torque rating of the engine is still not confirmed yet but it is expected to be around 240 Nm. It will be offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. We still do not know if there will be a petrol engine on offer or not.
Variants and launch
There will only be three variants of Bolero Neo on offer. They will be N4, N8 and N10. As the names suggest N4 will be the base variant, N8 will be the mid-spec one while N10 will be the top-end one.
The launch of the Bolero Neo is expected to happen around August-September. It will sit above the regular Bolero. The pricing should be around Rs. 9 lakhs ex-showroom to Rs 12 lakhs ex-showroom. Bolero Neo is aimed towards people who want the reliability and ruggedness of the Bolero but want a bit more comfortable and modern-looking vehicle. The manufacturer is expecting that the “Bolero” nameplate will be able to increase some sales of their compact-SUV segment which the TUV300 could never do. They even launched a TUV300 Plus but that was also not successful.
Looks
At a first glance, the Bolero Neo could be recognized as a TUV300 but the manufacturer has made a lot of subtle changes to differentiate it. For instance, they have added Bolero’s design elements such as squared-off wheel arches, boxy design and a clamshell bonnet. There is also a black plastic strip that runs at the side throughout the length of the SUV.
Other changes include new headlamps that now comes with LED Daytime Running Lamps, new 5-spoke alloy wheels, a revised bumper and a new spare wheel cover. The front grille has also been redesigned and now comes with 6 vertical slats just like we will see on the upcoming XUV 700 SUV.
The interior will also be redone so that it looks more modern. There is a new instrument cluster that is similar to the one found in the Thar. The top-spec variant should come with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and automatic climate control. The upholstery and dashboard design will also be slightly different.
