Skoda launched the Kushaq in the Indian market and it has received a fairly good response. The SUV was able to gather 2,000 bookings. The deliveries of the Kushaq will be starting from July 12th while the people who opted for the 1.5-litre TSI engine would have to wait till August. Kushaq has already started arriving at dealerships for test drives. However, the test drives of 1.5 TSI will also start in August.
Skoda says that the people who booked the Kushaq have been given an exact delivery date. They have also headstart the production to avoid long waiting periods. This will be an advantage to Skoda over the competitors. The Kushaq will be going against the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Renault Duster, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.

Prices cannot be dropped
Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service & Marketing at ŠKODA AUTO India Private Ltd. recently explained over Twitter, why the prices of the Kushaq cannot be dropped. He said that they do not have a naked Kushaq that can be sold at a much cheaper price. Even the base Active variant comes equipped with a lot of equipment.
People often buy the base variant thinking that they saved money but then they opt for aftermarket accessories. They can opt for the aftermarket accessories like infotainment systems and power windows but they cannot install on safety tech from aftermarket shops. Even the base variant comes with Multi Collision Braking, Electronic Differential Lock, Anti-Slip Regulation, Brake Disc Wiping, Roll Over Mitigation, dual airbags, Stability Control, Anti-lock braking system and Electronic Brake Distribution.
