The country’s third-largest carmaker, Tata Motors, recently unveiled its highly anticipated Tata Curvv coupe SUV at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo this month. This new model, according to the company, will be launched with both EV and ICE powertrains. Now, Tata Motors has also officially revealed the launch timelines for both the electric and internal combustion engine variants of the Curvv. Along with this announcement, the company has also finalized the launch timeline for the Harrier EV as well.
Launch Timelines
According to Tata Motors, the Curvv EV will be making its debut in the second quarter of FY2025. This means that the company will launch the EV model between July and September 2024. Following the Curvv EV’s launch, the ICE version of the Curvv will be introduced after three to four months. Additionally, Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will be the third model to launch after the Curvv EV and ICE variants, further expanding the company’s electric vehicle lineup.
2024 Tata Curvv: Details
The Tata Curvv is one of the most unique offerings ever to be developed by the company. This model boasts a distinctive design language, characterized by its coupe-like roofline and flush-fitting door handles. At the front, the SUV boasts a bold appearance with a gloss black grille, sleek headlamps, and dual-function LED daytime running lights, similar to that of Tata’s recent models like the Harrier and Safari. The lower air dam with a brushed silver finish adds a touch of sportiness, while gloss black elements around the wheel arches and side running boards add to the Curvv’s sporty design appeal.
Moving to the interior, the picture of the interior was recently shared online by ACI. The Tata Curvv will offer a spacious and luxurious cabin, with design cues borrowed from the immensely popular Tata Nexon sub-compact SUV. The car will get a multi-layered dashboard design, and it will come equipped with a two-spoke steering wheel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. It will also most likely get a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster as well. Other premium features include a sunroof, steering-mounted controls, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a touch-based HVAC system.
2024 Tata Curvv powertrain options
It is believed that the upcoming Tata Curvv EV will boast the same EV drivetrain as the newly launched Nexon EV facelift. According to reports, the new Curvv EV could be offered with two battery pack options like the Nexon EV facelift – the Medium-range model and the long-range model. Currently, the Nexon EV MR uses a 30 kWh battery, whereas the LR variant comes with a larger 40.5 kWh battery. The outgoing Nexon EV facelift offers around 325 km and 465 km of range in its MR and LR variants, respectively. However, it has been reported that the Curvv EV will be offering around a 500 km range on a single full charge.
Apart from the EV drivetrain, the company will also launch the Tata Curvv with its time-tested 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine. This motor delivers a maximum power of 115 PS and 260 Nm of torque. This engine is expected to be paired with a manual gearbox. In terms of safety, the Curvv is anticipated to come equipped with rear disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, and a blind-spot monitor, ensuring the safety of passengers and pedestrians.
