Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the facelifted version of the much loved Swift hatchback in India. After multiple spotting of test mules, spy shots and videos of the international version, we know what the Swift will come with. A new video of the 2024 Swift has been uploaded on YouTube by “Anurag Choudhary” showing the car in seven colour options.
The seven different colour options of the new Swift include:
• The most popular fiery red colour
• Pure Pearl White
• A light green colour
• Dark or charcoal grey
• Light golden or Bronze
• A dark shade of blue called Frontier Blue
• Flame Orange Pearl Metallic
Maruti has changed the colours for the new Swift, now offering more bright and sporty colours which match the character of the hatch. One important thing to note is that this video shows pictures of the internationally launched Swift. It is not yet confirmed whether Maruti will launch all these colours in India. The video continues showing the Blue colour from different exterior angles and pictures of the refreshed interior design of the facelifted car.
Here’s what we know about the Swift 2024
Exterior Design
The 2024 Swift showcases a brand-new front fascia. The front grille comes with a beautiful honeycomb pattern with a thick black surround. The new Swift will also have all new sleeker-looking LED projector headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs. Additionally, the redesigned bonnet further adds to the car’s bold stance. The car has grown by 30mm in length while the height and width have been reduced by 40mm and 30mm respectively.
Side Profile
Notable changes to the side profile include a stronger-looking shoulder line, adding to the car’s overall muscular appearance. The 2024 Swift comes with all new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, giving the hatch a premium feel. The black-painted C-pillar creates a floating roof effect, adding to the car’s overall appeal. Another noticeable change is the placement of rear door handles. The current Swift has door handles on C-pillar while the new one comes with the traditional placement.
Rear Design
At the rear, the Swift will come with brand-new LED taillights, a sleek black spoiler, and a redesigned rear bumper, giving the car a sporty and modern vibe. Practical features such as a rear window wiper, washer, and defogger will also be offered for added convenience.
Interior Upgrades
The new Swift is set to impress with a refreshed cabin design. The highlight is a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Most likely it will be Maruti’s Smartplay Pro+ unit.
Automatic climate control, semi-digital instrument cluster, sleek rectangular AC vents, and a dual-tone finish elevate the interior ambiance. No changes are expected to the steering wheel and window controls. Additionally, pictures reveal the Swift will come equipped with different and more comfortable front seats.
On the safety front, we can expect a better build quality, which will translate to a higher crash test score. The current Swift scored a 1-star rating in GNCAP. Additionally, some reports suggest that it can be offered with six airbags in the top model.
The current 1.2 litre K series engine will be replaced by the 1.2 litre three cylinder Z series mild hybrid petrol engine. This new engine promises better fuel economy and reduced emissions. Both the automatic and manual transmission will be offered. Some reports suggest that a strong hybrid system will also be offered with the new Swift. This powertrain option can deliver a mileage of up to 35 kmpl.
