Here are five more things to know about the Mahindra XUV Aero
Most powerful Mahindra ever
Mahindra will use the same 2.2-litre mHawk to power the XUV Aero. However, the engine will be retuned to fit the sporty personality of the XUV Aero. Mahindra revealed during the unveiling that the 2.2-litre engine that will power the Aero would churn out a maximum power of 210 Bhp.
Mahindra is also preparing 170 Bhp 2.2-lite mHawk engine to power the Mahindra XUV 500. The XUV Aero will be the most powerful vehicle in the market with a Mahindra badge on it.
Will be built alongside XUV 500
The Aero will be built at Mahindra’s Chakan plant that also produces Mahindra XUV 500. The XUV Aero and the XUV 500 share the same platform and hence, they will be built side-by-side on the same production line too. The Chakan plant also produces other Mahindra vehicles like KUV100 and TUV 300.
Gets asymmetric suicide doors
The Concept model showcased at the Auto Expo had Suicide doors at the passenger side of the vehicle while the driver side of the vehicle gets only a single door. It is not confirmed if the production version will get the suicide doors like the Rolls Royce, but it sure looks extremely cool. There is also no B-Pillar in the vehicle, giving a sense of extra space.
Will get driving modes
The XUV Aero will come with various driving modes to aid the driver. There will be four driving modes; street, off-road, sports and racing. These modes will change various inputs in the car like steering feedback, engine response and the suspension tuning. Maybe Mahindra does not put all the features to keep the cost low.
Quickest Mahindra ever
The 2.2-litre mHawk engine will churn out a maximum power of 210 Bhp. That power will be good enough to propel the Mahindra XUV 500 to 100 km/h from standstill in just 6 seconds. That will make it the quickest Mahindra vehicle ever. Mahindra is yet to reveal the top-speed of the XUV Aero. In all possibilities, it will be the fastest too.
