Skoda has launched the Rapid Monte Carlo special edition in India. The new car starts at Rs. 10.75 lakh and goes up to Rs. 13.06 lakh. Here is all you want to know.
What is it?
The Monte Carlo Edition is based on the top-end variant of the Skoda Rapid and it gets many enhancements. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition gets only two colour choices – red or white. Both the colours come with black accents on various parts of the vehicle to make it look more aggressive.
The car gets black front grille, black accents in the headlamps, blacked out rearview mirrors and tail lamp cluster. The Monte Carlo edition also gets 16-inch alloy wheels as standard. To make it look even sportier, Skoda has added a black rear spoiler.
The black theme continues to be on the inside of the vehicle too. The interiors are all-black with contrast red stitching on the seats and the steering wheel. The car also gets aluminium foot pedal and flat-bottom steering wheel. The Monte Carlo edition gets similar features to the Style variant of the Rapid. The features include cruise control, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity option. There is front wiper with rain sensor and a cooled glove box too.
Mechanically, the car remains the same. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo gets 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 108 Bhp and 153 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre TDI engine that generates 103 Bhp – 250 Nm. Both the engines get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. There is a 6-speed tiptronic (torque converter) automatic transmission with the petrol engine while the diesel engine gets 7-speed DSG dual clutch transmission.
All the Monte Carlo Edition cars come with standard ABS and dual front airbags as standard. The automatic variants also get electronic stability control (ESC) and hill-hold function as well.
