The world’s largest motorcycle expo, the EICMA concluded a few days back. There were manufacturers from all over the world showcasing their upcoming products and concepts at the event. Even though the EICMA is held in Italy, there were many India-bound motorcycles that were showcased there. Here are ten motorcycles that will reach India from EICMA.
Hero XPulse
The smaller capacity adventure motorcycles are gaining popularity among the bikers around the world. Hero showcased the XPulse concept that will be launched in India sometime in 2018. Hero will also showcase the concept the Auto Expo 2018.
No technical details about the motorcycle have been revealed yet but the concept model carries a lot of features. There are a bash plate and crash-guard to protect the engine. The motorcycle also gets a small fairing for wind deflection, an LED headlamp, knuckle guard, a twin seat and a high handlebar.
Royal Enfield Interceptor
The much-awaited Royal Enfield Interceptor has been finally been unveiled by the company. The Interceptor will become the most powerful Royal Enfield ever. The motorcycle will be powered by 650cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that develops a maximum power of 46 Bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor is expected to a carry a price tag of around Rs. 3 lakh when launched. It will first enter the European markets and will enter the Indian market by mid-2018.
Norton Dominator and Commando
The Norton brand name resurrected after many years of hibernation. The British motorcycle maker will join hands with Kinetic Group to sell products in India and other ASEAN countries. The first motorcycles will be CBU import and will be launched in mid-2018. Norton will launch the Commando and Dominator, which are powered by 961cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out a maximum power of 80 Bhp and 90 Nm.
BMW F 850GS
BMW Motorrad unveiled two new variants of the middleweight adventure models in the form of F750 GS and F850 GS. The motorcycles are powered by the same 853cc parallel-twin engine that is set at 270-degrees. India will only get the F850 GS that has a power output of 94 Bhp. The motorcycle gets two balance shafts to reduce the vibrations and it also gets anti-hopping clutch that offers a lighter clutch.
Triumph Tiger 800
Triumph Tiger is one of the most popular adventure motorcycles in India. The Tiger 800 has received an update which was showcased at the EICMA show and will soon come to India. Triumph Tiger 800 has received more than 200 changes to the chassis and the engine. The new model will have a much more responsive engine, and a shorter first gear, which will give it better low-speed manoeuvrability. The Tiger 800 also gets TFT screen, LED lighting, illuminated back-lit switchgear and cruise control system.
Ducati Panigale V4
Ducati has dumped the L-twin engine for a new V4 engine. The flagship motorcycle of Ducati was unveiled at the EICMA where it received the “most beautiful bike of the show” award. The Panigale will become the first mass production motorcycle from Ducati to get a V4 engine. The new engine is derived from the Desmosedici from Ducati MotoGP. The motorcycle makes a peak power of 214 Bhp while the torque maximizes at 124 Nm.
Ducati Scrambler 1100
Ducati will bring the bigger version of the Scrambler to the Indian market too. The Scrambler 1100 follows the success of the 803cc model. The design of the Scrambler 1100 may look similar to the Ducati 803 but it gets an all-new chassis and a new L-Twin engine from the Moster 1100. The motorcycle is expected to be launched by mid-2018.
Benelli TRK 502
The Italian manufacturer showcased the TRK 502 adventure motorcycle during the Auto Expo 2016. The newly developed motorcycle is powered by a 500cc, parallel-twin engine that is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The fuel injected engine produces a maximum of 47 BHP and 45 Nm of torque.
The premium looking TRK 502 gets a distinctive beak at the front, which is essentially the extended part of the front fairing. It also gets split seats, with a low seat height and an adjustable windscreen. At the front, the motorcycle gets 320 mm disc at the front while the rear tyre gets a single disc set-up of 260 mm. The motorcycle comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, and it is not designed for extreme off-roading.
Benelli Leoncino
Benelli will also launch the Leoncino in India with Scrambler inspired styling. The Leoncino is powered by the same 500cc parallel-twin engine of the TRK 502. The motorcycle is expected to be available in two variants – off-road model and a tarmac-biased model.
Benelli Imperiale
Benelli will launch the Imperiale to explore the lower segment markets which are dominated by the Royal Enfield right now. The Imperiale is powered by a 373cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces a maximum of 20 Bhp – 28 Nm. The motorcycle is expected to be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo.
