Bollywood actress Genelia D’Souza gifted her husband Ritesh Deshmukh – also an actor – a Tesla Model X SUV. Ritesh Deshmukh tweeted a picture of him with his birthday gift. This is the second Tesla Model X bought by a famous Indian personality. Just a few days back, Mr. Prashant Ruia – CEO of ESSAR – purchased a Tesla Model X, and got it registered at Mumbai. However, Ritesh’s Model X seems to be at a foreign location. The cue is in the steering, which is on the left hand side of the car. In India, cars that can be registered need to be right hand drive models.
The Tesla Model X is the only SUV that is produced by the electric car brand. It is also among the fastest SUVs in the world. The electric vehicle is powered by twin motors, one powering the front axle and the other powering the rear axle. Combined outputs total to 762 PS (259 PS at front and 503 PS at the rear).
The SUV is all wheel driven and features an automatic transmission. The peak torque is a stunning 967 Nm, and this is what gives the Model X such great acceleration. It can go from rest to 100 Kph in just 4.8 seconds, even in the base-spec.

Top speed is 250 Kph. Tesla also sells a faster version of the Model X called the P90D. This version accelerates even more faster, with a 0-100 Kph acceleration timing of just 3.8 seconds. The company offers a very interesting mode on this car called ‘Ludicrous’. When this mode is activated, the acceleration becomes rocket-like, with the Model X taking just 3.2 seconds to hit 100 Kph. The Model X is available in 5, 6 and 7 seat layouts. It gets falcon doors – that open like the wings of a bird – as standard. The variant that Ritesh Deshmukh has been gifted for his 40th birthday is unclear. The price of the Model X in the USA starts from 80,000 US dollars or about 52 lakh rupees in Indian currency.
