Only yesterday, we told you that the new Hyundai Creta facelift is expected to be launched on 23rd or 24th May 2018 and that some Hyundai dealerships have even started accepting bookings for the upcoming model. Today, we bring you a couple of new spy images of the upcoming facelift that were sent to us by Girish Ravichandran, one of our avid readers.

Girish says that he spotted the Creta facelift testing along with the upcoming new Santro at Doddabetta, which is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri hills. As can be seen in the spy images, the Creta is yet to shed much of its camouflage. However, in all probability, the India-spec version will look a lot like the one sold in Brazil.

Up front, the 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift will have a larger trapezoidal grille and an updated bumper. The car will also have bigger fog lamp housings. Other than this, the car is expected to get a set of new alloy wheels. On the inside, the Creta facelift will have an updated dashboard with a new infotainment system. This touchscreen unit will be similar to what we have seen on the recently updated Hyundai Elite i20 and Active i20.

The new 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift will also get a ‘Sports’ version. The Creta Sports will have a different set of alloy wheels and a dual-tone paint scheme for the exterior. Other than this, it will also offer a seat ventilation system and a sunroof. There is a good chance that some of these features will be available on both Sports and top-end trims.

The engine and transmission options will remain unchanged. This means that the Creta will get two diesel engines and one petrol engine. The oil burners on offer will include a 1.4-litre turbo-diesel engine with 89 Bhp – 220 Nm and a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine with 126 Bhp –  265 Nm.  The petrol engine also displaces 1.6-litre and outputs 121 Bhp – 151 Nm. The 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines can be bought with a six-speed automatic transmission.
