Honda is all set to launch the all-new, 2018 Amaze compact sedan in India on the 16th of May. Ahead of its launch, the car has started arriving at Honda dealerships across India. Here are a few spyshots of the 2018 Amaze at Honda dealer stockyards. Deliveries of the all-new, 2018 Amaze will start right from the day of launch. Honda dealers have already been accepting pre-bookings for the car for the past weeks. The all-new Amaze will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Hyundai Xcent and the Ford Figo Aspire. The price announcement will happen on the day of launch, and the first 20,000 people to buy the car will get to purchase it at an introductory price tag.

The 2018 Amaze is based on an all-new, 2UA platform which is set to underpin more Honda cars and SUVs in future. Using the new platform has allowed the 2018 Amaze to get larger while still managing to retain a sub-4 meter footprint. The car is also slightly lighter than the one it succeeds.

The 2nd generation Amaze gets brand new styling, which makes it look quite unique. It gets a plunging, coupe-like roofline at the rear giving it a very distinct appearance. The design will allow the 2018 Amaze to stand out from the rest of the compact sedans sold in India, at least until the novelty value lasts.

The new car will be offered with two engines, carried over from the older Amaze. The big change though, is the fact that the 2018 Amaze diesel will get a CVT automatic option – a first-in-segment feature. Paddle shifters will be offered with the petrol CVT and diesel CVT variants. As for the engines, there’s the 1.2 litre i-VTEC motor with 87 Bhp-110 Nm on tap and the 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine with 98.6 Bhp-200 Nm and 80 Bhp-160 Nm outputs. The diesel engine with the lower state of the tune will be offered with the CVT automatic gearbox. 5 speed manual gearboxes will be standard on both the petrol and diesel engines.
