The facelifted versions of the Datsun Go hatchback and the Go+ 7 seat station wagon have now been officially revealed for the Indonesian car market. Indonesia will be the first market to get the facelifted versions of these cars, following which they’ll make their way to the Indian market. The Datsun Go and Go+ Facelifts are likely to be launched in India by the end of this year.
As for the changes on the cars, the exteriors get a new front bumper, revised headlamps, LED DRLs, a redesigned grille that’s now wider and integrated turn indicators on the wing mirrors. There’s also a body kit on offer as an optional extra. The body kit comes with inserts for the front and rear bumpers, side skirts and a large hatch lid spoiler.
The interiors of both cars get a new touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a new instrument cluster, revised AC vents and powered windows on all four doors. ABS is still missing while the new steering wheel gets a driver airbag. Similar changes are likely to be offered on the Indian variants of the Go and Go+, both of which are now struggling to sell in decent numbers.
Mechanically, a key change on the facelifted Go hatchback is the inclusion of a CVT automatic gearbox. However, the Go+ station wagon doesn’t get this option. The engine remains the tried and tested HR12DE unit with a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder layout, and outputs of 67 Bhp-104 Nm. A five speed manual gearbox is standard on both cars. For the Indian market, the petrol-manual variants are likely, with the CVT automatic gearbox option dumped as Datsun already has an affordable AMT car in the form of the RediGO. Adding a CVT gearbox to the Go and Go+ would make these cars too pricey for the segment they operate in.
