Tata Motors recently launched the AMT variants of the Nexon sub-4-meter compact SUV. The highlight here is that the new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) is available with both petrol and diesel engine variants of the Nexon. Other than this, the Nexon is also available in many trims, with varying level of equipment. Hence, you can pick a Nexon variant to suit your exact needs. To help you with this, we tell you about 5 kinds of Tata Nexon for 5 kinds of people –

On a budget, have low usage: Nexon Petrol XE/XM

The entry-level and the mid trims of the petrol-powered Nexon make a lot of sense if you are on a budget and don’t have an average monthly usage of more than 2,500-3,000 kms. While the diesel-powered Nexon certainly gives you the benefit of lower fuel bills, a monthly usage of fewer than 2,500 kms will take it a tad too long to recover the higher amount you’ll spend on buying the diesel variant. Hence, you can safely pick up an entry- or mid-level Nexon petrol for Rs 6.16 lakh to Rs 6.91 lakh (ex-showroom). The lower variants of the Nexon come with all the important features like power windows, power steering, and AC.

High usage but on budget: Nexon Diesel XE

In the second scenario, we’ll look at all those who are on a budget but have a really high monthly usage. For such buyers, it’s best to pick up an entry-level diesel variant, which will cost Rs 7.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nexon has an ARAI-certified mileage of 21.5 kmpl, which makes it a pretty frugal option. Moreover, the Nexon offers multi driving modes – city, sport, eco. This lets you optimize the power delivery as per the usage conditions and hence, maximise the mileage. The entry-level XE trim is for all those who want a modern compact SUV that is powerful, has all the necessary features and isn’t too expensive.

High usage, want a really upmarket car: Nexon Diesel AMT

The Nexon diesel AMT makes a lot of sense for people who have a high usage and require all the bells and whistles. The top-end model of the Nexon diesel comes with an AMT, which makes driving through the traffic-infested streets all the more convenient. Plus, features like a wearable smart key and an excellent Harman-sourced music system with touchscreen infotainment unit makes the Nexon diesel AMT feel like a proper premium SUG. The Nexon diesel XZA Plus (AMT variant) has an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.59 lakh for the dual-tone paint scheme.

Low usage but want premium features: Nexon Petrol AMT

You can also pick up the Nexon petrol XZA+ for Rs 9.62 lakh in case you have a low average monthly usage. In this case, you not only end up saving almost a lakh rupees but also benefit from the same features and the convenience of the automatic gearshifts. Like the Nexon diesel XZA+, even the petrol XZA+ trim comes with high-end features like a touchscreen infotainment unit and a wearable smart key. Also, as is the case with AMTs, the fuel mileage of this variant is as high as that of the manual transmission-equipped model. Hence, you end up benefitting from a feature-laden automatic SUV that is sufficiently frugal.

Slightly different appearance: Nexon Customized

Tata Motors is offering a really wide range of official accessories to the customers of the Tata Nexon. These optional accessories can help new as well as existing Nexon customers with giving their SUV a slightly different appearance. The accessories list even includes a manual pop-up sunroof, which can be installed to any Nexon variant for Rs 16,053. You also get many chrome appliques. Owners of base variants can purchase the rear parking sensors and camera kit for Rs 7,500. Basically, there are many permutations and combinations thru which you can give your Nexon a slightly different look.
