Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has confirmed that it plans to launch at least five new two-wheelers. According to reports, Hero MotoCorp said, in an investors’ conference call, that it has earmarked as much as Rs 2,500 crore to increase its manufacturing capacity. Here are the five upcoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycles and scooters that will be launched in this financial year.
Hero Xtreme 200R
Hero seems to be very close to launching the Xtreme 200R in the country. It was earlier speculated that the 200-cc Xtreme would be launched before the 2018 Auto Expo. However, as per fresh reports, it looks like the Xtreme 200R will be launched only later this year. Powering the new Hero Xtreme 200R is a 200-cc, four-stroke engine that is air-cooled. This 200-cc, single-cylinder engine has been developed in-house. It outputs a maximum power of 18 bhp along with a peak torque of 17.1 Nm. The 200R will become the most expensive motorcycle, available for purchase, with the Xtreme moniker.
As per the company, the motorcycle can sprint from 0 to 60 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. It will enjoy a true top speed of 114 km/h. The Xtreme 200R will have disc brakes on both the wheels. Suspension duties will be taken care of by conventional telescopic shock absorbers at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
Hero Xpulse 200
Hero MotoCorp will also launch the XPulse 200 later this year. The XPulse 200 can be said to be the logical successor of the now discontinued Hero Impulse. Upon its launch, the XPulse 200 will become the only dual purpose motorcycle in Hero Motocorp’s portfolio. It will also become the only dual purpose motorcycle other than the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The Hero XPulse 200 is powered by a 200-cc, single-cylinder engine that will output a maximum power of 18.36 PS at 8,500 RPM and a peak torque of 17.2 Nm at 6,000 RPM. ABS will be a standard feature.
New Hero Glamour 125
Hero MotoCorp launched the all-new Glamour only a few months ago. However, it now looks like the company is already planning to give the motorcycle some upgrades. The refreshed Glamour will come with a combined braking system, which will be in compliance with the upcoming safety norms. It’s also expected to come with a handful of styling upgrades to freshen up the exterior. The introduction of a combined braking system will not only help the motorcycle meet the upcoming stricter safety norms but will also help riders by reducing the risk of crashing in a panic-braking situation.
Hero Maestro 125
Like we said, Hero MotoCorp will also launch a couple of scooters in the current financial year. One of these will be the Maestro 125, which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Basically, the upcoming 125-cc variant of the automatic scooter will be a slightly more powerful and costlier version of the Maestro Edge. Powering the Maestro 125 will be the same 8.7 bhp-10.2 Nm engine that powers the upcoming Duet 125. The Maestro 125 will become a direct rival to competitors like the Activa 125.
Hero Duet 125
Yes, even the Duet 125 will be launched later this year. The Duet 125 was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 just like the Maestro 125. It’s expected to be launched alongside the Maestro 125 during the current financial year. Powering the Duet is a 125-cc, single-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 8.7 bhp along with a peak torque of 10.2 Nm. The upcoming scooter will be equipped with features like an Integrated Braking System, a service reminder, a high beam pass swift and an external fuel-filler cap. It will be a slightly more stylish alternative to the Maestro 125. The Duet 125 will compete with scooters, such as the Honda Grazia.
