And if you’re on a tight budget, the XUV500 W5, which is the base variant, makes perfect sense. It is priced at Rs. 12.38 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Even the base variant of the Mahindra XUV500 is quite loaded. The base variant gets features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, split tailgate, twin exhaust, roof rails, 6-way adjustable driver seat, dual HVAC, reading lamps, power windows, remote tailgate opening, glove box with laptop holder, flat foldable 2nd and 3rd-row seats and follow me headlamps.

Mahindra XUV500 is the only vehicle in the segment to offer diesel-powered AWD with an automatic transmission. For people who are looking for a diesel automatic SUV with AWD capability, the XUV500 serves as the perfect choice. Even though it is available only with the top-end W11 (O) variant, it is priced at Rs. 19.05 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi, it remains cheaper than the closest diesel 4X4 automatic option available in the market.

The gearbox is a 6 speed automatic unit. Being the top-end version, the W11 (O) variant is loaded to the brim. It gets features like the leather cover on the dashboard and door trims, 18-inch diamond cut alloys, window chrome lines, illuminated scuff plates, all-chrome tailgate applique, power adjustable 8-way driver seat, driver express-up window, puddle lamps, camping lamp and door ajar lamps.

Mahindra also introduced the petrol variant of the XUV500 with the pre-facelift model. The 2.2-litre petrol engine of the XUV500 produces a maximum of 138 Bhp and 320 Nm. If you’re looking for a value-for-money 4X2 petrol automatic SUV, then the G AT variant fits the requirement perfectly.
