Ford India will soon launch the updated Figo and the Figo-based Aspire in the Indian market. Ford is currently offering a cash discount of Rs. 65,000 plus an exchange bonus of Rs. 19,000. This brings down the effective price of the top-end spec to Rs. 5.98 lakh, which is a great deal. The current generation Aspire is powered by both petrol and diesel engine options and gets a host of features.

Ford in an advertisement announced that the petrol Titanium manual is priced at Rs. 5.98 lakhs, while the diesel Titanium manual is priced at Rs. 7.08 lakhs. The prices are applicable in Delhi only. A few days back, it was reported that Ford might have shut the production of the sedan and pictures showed the last model rolling out of the production line. The facelifted Aspire is expected to enter production and launch in the coming few weeks.

The vehicle is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 86.8 Bhp and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates a maximum of 98.6 Bhp. There is also a 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum of 110 Bhp and 136 Nm. It is only offered with a twin-clutch automatic transmission. Ford also offers a sporty variant of the Figo Aspire in the form of Aspire S. The car gets a stiffer suspension for the enthusiasts.

The Aspire takes on the likes of Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and the newly launched Honda Amaze in the Indian car market. The current generation Figo Aspire did not attract many buyers, but with the new discounted price, we can expect that the dealerships will be able to clear the stocks before the arrival of the new car. On the safety front, the car gets up to six airbags, ABS and EBD, depending on the variants. The car also gets SYNC infotainment system that has a small mono-colour screen.
