Suzuki Motorcycle India has just released a new TVC showcasing their latest automatic scooter – the Burgman 125 – in action. The Suzuki Burgman 125 is also the costliest scooter sold by the two wheeler maker in India, and was just launched last week with a price tag of Rs. 68,000 ex-showroom Delhi. Notably, the Burgman 125 is the only maxi-scooter on sale in India, and what really stands out about the scooter is its dimensions, which are much larger than other comparable automatic scooters. The Suzuki Burgman 125 is the smallest engined among the Burgman range of maxi-scooters that Suzuki sells globally.

It shares its 125-cc engine with the Access 125. Known to be a torquey performer, this engine produces a peak power of 8.7 PS and a peak torque of 10.2 Nm. The gearbox is a CVT automatic unit. Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency figure of 53 Kmpl for the Burgman 125, which is par for the course, especially considering the larger proportions and higher weight the scooter has to deal with.

A front disc brake is standard while retardation at the rear is handled by a drum brake. Combi-braking system is standard on the scooter, which gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear. The scooter is fully built in India with a high amount of localisation, which is the reason why Suzuki has managed to price it attractively.

As for key features, the Suzuki Burgman 125 gets an LED head lamp and tail lamp, a windscreen to protect the rider from windblast, generous proportions that make it the largest scooter on sale in the country, a digital instrument custer, a digital clock, fuel gauge, oil change indicator and a dual trip meter. The multi-function keyhole gets a fuel-lid release, while there’s a standard DC power socket to charge mobile phones. The underseat storage at 21.5 litres is best in class which means that there will be plenty of space left even after using the storage bin to hold a full-face helmet. Competitors of the Burgman 125 include the Honda Grazia 125, the TVS NTorq and the Aprilia SR150.
