Another pic of the long-awaited and much talked about Tata Tigor test mule has surfaced online via Team BHP. As seen in the photo taken from a highway toll plaza in Coimbatore, the Tata Tigor can be seen sporting a twin-barrel exhaust, which suggests that it could be the Tigor JTP.

Tata Tigor With Twin Exhaust

The have been numerous spotting of the test mules of the Tata Tigor JTP earlier, however this pic shows that the latest test mule appears to have a raw rear bumper without any paint. There are no black plastic cladding inserts in the rear bottom part of the bumper. What appears to be intact is the rear reverse parking sensors. Black spoiler placed above the rear windshield is similar to the standard model, but what’s missing are the rear antenna, chrome boot garnish and the taillights are of the base model.

Last year Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives and Tata motors announced their collaboration to develop the more powerful and sportier versions of their street cars. In due process, Jayem Automotives is developing the sportier JTP versions of the Tiago and Tigor for Tata Motors.

The prototype models of both cars were first showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in Feb this year. Since then, the Tigor JTP version has been spotted testing on roads several times and what is believed to be true is that both models are expected to get a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that will produce a maximum power of 108 BHP and 150 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Since the development of both the models is based to be on the sportier side, we are expecting bigger wheels and a stiffer suspension setup on both the models.

The Tata Tigor JTP could be a good package for the automotive enthusiasts, only the main question that remains unanswered as of now is when the official launch of these sportier versions is going to take place. Will it be a true sport model of the Tigor or just another overhyped thing? Which will it be, stay tuned to find out more about this.
