There is always an argument between car guys & bikers regarding which mode of transport is more fun. Here are ten reasons why riding a bike is better than driving a car.
Traffic beating
As a person who drives a car, there is nothing more irritating than seeing biker try to squeeze past you while you’re stuck in a stupid jam. This feature of a bike is something that makes car guys feel that they should be able to reduce the width of their car so that they too could squeeze past. However that’s something only the biking community will be entitled too till we have cars who’s width can be varied. A two-wheeler will certainly cut your travel time considerably if you drive during peak rush hours.
Easy parking
In a country like India where space is a big constraint, having something with a small foot print is helpful. I’m sure everyone who drives has experienced a biker coming past you & parking his bike while you are still stuck in a queu looking for parking. Let’s face it, even the smallest car can’t really stand a chance against a two-wheeler in this aspect.
Fun at a smaller budget
How much fun can you have in a car that costs Rs 2 lakhs? Honestly, not as much fun as you can have on a KTM Duke 390. No, we aren’t just talking about this bike alone. A bike offers better performance at a cheaper cost, not to mention the wind in the hair experience that can be very exciting. If you have ever stood out of a sunroof of a car and enjoyed it, that’s exactly how a biker feels all the time. A Suzuki Hayabusa which costs around 18 lakhs does 0-100 in roughly 3 seconds. Any car with that kind off performance is certainly going to set you back more than 10 times that cost.
More romantic
This point only applies to those who don’t have a KUV100, a GO (+), or any car with a front bench seat. If you have seen the movie ‘Rockstar’, you’ll know what we are talking about. The feeling of having your love sitting behind you, having her face on your shoulder & holding you tight cannot be matched in any car. Some bikers are also known to accelerate & brake harder to improve upon the above. *wink*
‘Kitna Deti Hai’ aspect
At the end of the day, everything boils down to the bank balance. You maybe the biggest enthusiast, but there are only a handful of people to whom fuel costs don’t really matter. To the remaining, a bike makes more sense. Not only do they have a smaller fuel tank (cheaper to fill), but also have better mileage keeping your monthly finances in check.
