New Hyundai Santro: Variants EXPLAINED!

Hyundai launched the all-new Santro in the Indian market after building quite an anticipation around the vehicle. The hatchback is positioned between the entry-level Eon and the mid-size Grand i10 in the Indian market and takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Tata Tiago.

Hyundai Santro comes in 5 trim levels and 9 variants in total, giving a wide choice to the customers. If you’re out in the market looking at the Hyundai Santro, here are the all the details on the variants that you would want to know.

Santro D-Lite

Price: Rs. 3.89 lakhs

Santro Tvc Featured

The Hyundai Santro D-Lite is the entry-level variant of the hatchback and is available in only petrol version. It also does not gets AMT automatic transmission. Being the base variant, Hyundai has kept the feature list to a bare minimum. As standard equipment, Hyundai offers engine immobiliser, driver-side airbag and ABS+EBD with the variant. However, there is no air-conditioner in the variant. It gets the power steering and the Multi-Information Display on the instrument console, folding rear seat, remote fuel lid and boot opener too. On the outside, it gets wheel hub cover, black coloured grille, ORVMs, door handles and bumpers.

Santro Era

Price: Rs. 4.25 lakhs

The Era variant is also available with an only petrol engine and manual transmission. Apart from the standard features available in the D-Lite variant, the Era version gets body coloured bumpers. On the inside, it gets a manual AC system with rear vents. The Era variant also gets a power outlet in front and front powered windows. All other features remain the same as the D-Lite version.

Santro Magna

Price: Manual – Rs. 4.58 lakhs, Automatic – Rs. 5.19 lakhs, CNG manual – Rs 5.24 lakhs

The Magna variant is offered with both manual and AMT automatic transmissions. It is also available with CNG bi-fuel engine option but the CNG version only comes with a manual transmission. The Magna version gets central locking as standard with day & night inside rearview mirror. The CNG variant also gets a mini fire extinguisher mounted inside the cabin. The Magna variant also gets chrome surrounded front grille, which adds a premium look to the hatchback. It also gets body coloured door handles and ORVMs further adding the premium looks. Hyundai also offers the Diana Green special edition starting with the Magna variant. It gets green inserts on the inside. The premium feel continues with the champagne coloured inside door handles in the hatchback.

The CNG variant of the Magna also gets a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, USB, steering mounted controls and front speakers. The CNG variant also gets a rear parcel tray. It also gets rear powered windows with both petrol and CNG variant. The MID display in the Magna and above variants show average fuel consumption, instantaneous fuel consumption and distance to empty.

Santro Sportz

Price: Manual Rs. 5 lakhs, Automatic: Rs. 5.47 lakhs, CNG manual: Rs. 5.64 lakhs

Just like the Magna trim, the Sportz variant is available with manual and AMT automatic with the petrol engine and manual with the CNG variant. The Sportz variant is quite loaded with features and also gets front fog lamps and rear defogger. It also gets full-size wheel covers and turn indicators mounted on the Outside Rearview Mirrors. The Sportz variant also gets keyless entry.

The Sportz variant also gets the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link. The infotainment system also gets voice recognition with front and rear speakers. The AC system gets the ECO power coating and the rear parcel tray is also standard across the variants regardless of the engine.

Santro Asta

Price: 5.45 lakhs

The top-end Asta version of the Hyundai Santro is available only with the petrol engine and manual transmission. It gets a long list of features including a rear parking sensor, rear camera with display on the infotainment system. It also gets co-driver airbag and front seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiter. Other safety features include speed sensing automatic door lock and impact sensing auto door unlock. Rest of the features remain same as the Sportz with an addition of passenger vanity mirror and rear windshield wiper and washer.
