Maruti Suzuki Ciaz became the best-selling mid-size sedan in India in the first half of the 2018-19 year. The Ciaz takes on the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid in the segment. As per Maruti, more than 24,000 units of the Ciaz were sold during the period.
Maruti also says that more than 2,34,000 units of the Ciaz have been sold since it was introduced in 2014. Maruti Ciaz became the first car in the segment to offer SHVS mild system in India. The SHVS was first offered with the diesel engine options only and after the facelift, even the petrol variants of the Ciaz get the mild hybrid system. Maruti also introduced the all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine with the Ciaz facelift that was introduced last month.

The Nexa Blue colour of the Ciaz contributed to 25.5% of the total sales, which is quite a big number Maruti Ciaz is available with a 1.3-litre diesel engine too. Both the engine options get the mild-hybrid system that makes the Ciaz most efficient car in the segment.
The gearbox options on the car include 5 speed manual units for both the petrol and diesel engines, and a 4 speed torque converter automatic option on the petrol motor. The car gets twin airbags and ABS as standard safety features across all trims. Prices of the Ciaz start from Rs. 8.19 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
