The general elections are around the corner and political parties have started their campaigns around the country. Andhra Pradesh government Telugu Desam Party has announced a few sops to attract the voters in the state. The chief minister of the state has announced that the government plans to distribute Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedans to the unemployed youth of the state.
Wait, how does this work?
Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the Brahmin youths of the state who are unemployed at the moment will get Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedans. As many as 50 units of the sedan have been allocated for the distribution. It will be done under a self-employment program and the vehicles given to the youths will come highly subsidised.
The cars will be distributed through the Brahmin Welfare Corporation. Every vehicle will get a maximum subsidy of Rs. 2 lakhs. The beneficiary would have to bear only 10 per cent cost of the vehicle while the remaining amount would be paid by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Cooperative Credit Society as a repayable loan.
The instalments would be paid the government every month. Out of the 50 sanctioned cars in the first phase, 30 units are ready to be distributed as per the government. Apart from the Dzire cars, the government has also announced the distribution of 14 million smartphones to the youths.
There is no specific on the use of the car given to the youths. However, it is being given for the welfare of the families. It will help the youths to operate the vehicles as cabs and earn a monthly living that will better the condition of the families.
It is also not known which version of the Maruti Suzuki will be distributed to the youths. Maruti Suzuki currently offers the Maruti Dzire Tour and the all-new Dzire in the Indian market. The Dzire Tour is only sold as the “permit vehicle” that can only be used as cabs or taxis. They can only be registered with the yellow number plates. The Dzire Tour can also be registered as private cars but the insurance and tax amount goes up considerably making it a dealbreaker for the private car buyers. Maruti Suzuki offers all-new Dzire to the private vehicle owners in the market. The all-new Dzire was launched in 2018 and became the best-selling vehicle in the market overtaking the extremely popular Maruti Suzuki Alto.
The all-new Dzire is based on the new HEARTECT platform that also underpins the all-new Baleno, all-new Swift and even the all-new Ertiga. It gets powered by both 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki offers factory-fitted CNG with the Dzire Tour version but it is not available with the all-new Dzire. The all-new Dzire also gets AMT automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel engine options, making it the only vehicle in the segment to offer such a set-up.
