Nissan Kicks deliveries to start from January: Test drives now open

Nissan India has just announced that deliveries of the Kicks compact SUV will start from January 2019, right after the official launch on the 22nd of this month. Bookings for the SUV are already open across Nissan dealers in India. The compact SUV will replace the Terrano in Nissan India’s line-up, and will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta,  Renault Duster, Maruti S-Cross and Renault Captur.

Here are first pictures of the Kicks getting unloaded into dealer stockyards.

Nissan Kicks Dispatch 1

Test drives of the Nissan Kicks is now available at dealerships, and customers will be able to get an actual feel of  the SUV before putting down their deposits. As for pricing, the Nissan Kicks is expected to start from a little under  Rs. 10 lakhs so that it can directly challenge India’s best selling compact SUV – the Hyundai Creta. Nissan India has  also listed out the key aspects of the production version of the Kicks.

1.5H4K Petrol is driven by 5 speed manual transmission. 104 Bhp-140 Nm are the engine’s outputs.
1.5K9K dci Diesel engine is driven by 6 speed manual transmission. 108 Bhp-240 Nm are the engine’s outputs.

The Nissan Kicks is based on the B-Zero platform, which it shares with the Renault Duster and Captur. The SUV also shares its engines and gearboxes with the Captur. While the Kicks is also available in Latin America, the Indian version is larger.

Nissan is one of the official sponsors of the 2019 ICC World Cup which will be held in England. The automaker has  announced that 500 customers who buy the Nissan Kicks in January 2019 will be chosen to attend the World Cup. These customers will be chosen through a lucky draw. It remains unclear as to whether Nissan India will simply hand out free world cup tickets to these customers of if the automaker will also foot the travel and accommodation bills of those who win these tickets through the lucky draw.
