In wake of growing competition in segment from the recently launched Tata Harrier and a bid to clear old stocks, Jeep is now offering massive discounts on their Compass SUV. Jeep is offering a maximum discount of up to Rs 1.2 lakh on some variants manufactured in 2018. It is the entry level offering from the Jeep brand in India.
Discounts are available on all the variants except for the base Sport and the top-end Limited Plus variant. According to Autocar given below are the variant-wise discount figures for the 2018 Compass:

Over the past few months, sales of the Jeep Compass have been slipping. The Mahindra XUV500 has received a facelift, and is now selling much more than the Compass. The latest entrant to this segment – the Tata Harrier – has received a big chunk of bookings, and its sales figures for the coming months look quite promising. Clearly, the Compass needs something extra to get buyers into showrooms and Jeep India will be hoping that the large discounts are incentive enough.
Jeep Compass is sold with two engine options in India. The petrol variant gets a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine with 160 Bhp-250 Nm. The diesel engine is a 2.0L Fiat Multijet unit with 170 Bhp-350 Nm. The petrol powered Compass is sold only in front wheel drive whereas the diesel options get both front wheel and all-wheel drive systems.
Talking about the transmission both petrol and diesel variant get a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and the petrol variant offers a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission also. Jeep will soon be launching a new variant Trailhawk to the Compass line up.
It will be an SUV for the off-road enthusiasts with better approach and departure angle. It will get the same diesel engine but this time it will be mated to a 9-speed torque converter unit. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will get some additional features for better performance off the road. It will get revised suspension and body parts and the Trailhawk variant is expected to cost around Rs 25 lakh, ex-showroom. It’ll be the range-topping variant in the Compass line up.
