Ford EcoSport, which is the second sub-4m compact SUV in the segment in India after Premier Rio is the vehicle that made the segment extremely popular. However, over the years, competition has become stiffer as new launches from various manufacturers have crowded the segment. Ford EcoSport currently takes on the likes of newly launched Hyundai Venue, newly launched Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. To ensure that the EcoSport remains in the radar of the customers, Ford will soon introduce a new limited edition model of the EcoSport.

The upcoming car will get the name EcoSport Thunder and it will come with various changes. Here is a video from Tanmay Gupta that shows how the car looks like from all around. The new Ford EcoSport has already started reaching the dealerships across India and the launch of the vehicle is expected to happen anytime soon.

The changes in the front include an all-black treatment to the front-end of the car. The grille gets an all-black finish and it gets glass black inserts around the fog lamps and headlamps. The other changes can be seen in the design of the front and rear bumper, which adds a bit of aggressive stance to the car and makes the car look much sportier. The front bumper now also features a larger central air dam and gets blackened ORVMs. At the rear, there is a black cover for the spare wheel that is mounted on the tailgate of the EcoSport. The front bonnet lid is also partially covered in a black wrap.

The Ford EcoSport Thunder will be based on the Titanium variant of the vehicle and is expected to be Rs 20,000 more expensive than the regular version. It will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The total number of colour options available with the upcoming car is not known yet. It will also receive a new 17-inch blacked alloy wheels with sporty tyres. The roof has also been blacked out in the Thunder edition.

Even the cabin gets a lot of changes in the EcoSport Thunder. It gets a black and beige dual colour scheme as against the all-black theme available with the regular version of the car. The vehicle also receives faux wooden elements on the door panels. However, the equipment list is expected to be exactly the same as the Titanium variant of the car.
