Mahindra is working on a range of all-new cars for the Indian markets. With the upcoming BNVSAP safety norms and BS6 emission compliance norms, Mahindra will launch all-new Thar, all-new Scorpio and all-new XUV500 in the coming years. The Mahindra Thar, which has become an iconic vehicle in the Indian market has been spotted quite often testing on the roads and it is expected to be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year or early next year.
Here is the latest set of pictures and videos of the all-new Thar by Shobhit Mathur on 4X4 India Facebook group. The all-new Thar will be launched in the Indian market in the coming months and it is one of the many spottings of the test mule on the Indian roads. The all-new Mahindra Thar will be much bigger in size than the current version and it is quite clear from the pictures of the test mules that were spotted testing on the roads. The all-new Mahindra Thar will be built on the Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra TUV300 platform. However, the platform will be heavily altered to ensure that the vehicle is as capable as the current version of the Thar.
However, the all-new Thar is expected to become much more comfortable than the current version of the Thar. With the new platform, the all-new Thar will be much more comfortable than the current version and it can also become a daily car for many. Currently, due to the lack of features and comfort, the Thar is not considered as a daily commute vehicle by many.
The latest pictures of the Thar show two different test mules on the roads. One of the test mules gets a device mounted at the rear that measures the emissions. It indicates that Mahindra is also testing the all-new 2.0-litre BS6 compliant engine that will be launched with the all-new Thar soon. It will be the same engine that will power many next-generation models including the Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra XUV500 and all-new Ford SUV that is currently under development. The Thar will retain the 4X4 system with a low-ratio transfer case.
The all-new Thar will be offered as a three-door SUV optional hard top or soft top roof. The hardtop version, which was spied earlier was spotted with a removable roof, which means that the roof of the vehicle could be taken off when needed. On the inside, the all-new Thar is expected to get modern features like cruise control, airbags, touchscreen infotainment system, driver MID and more such features. It will also get forward-facing rear row seat that will offer a much more comfortable ride to the occupants.
