Suzuki launched the Gixxer SF 250 along with the Gixxer SF in India last month. The Gixxer SF 250 is Suzuki’s second go at the 250 cc segment in India and the bike for sure looks promising. To let you know, Suzuki launched a naked 250 cc bike by the name of Inazuma 250 in India but it didn’t become popular mainly because of its high price tag. The Gixxer SF 250 has been priced at Rs. 1,70,655 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is a decent price, to say the least. Suzuki also recently released a new TVC of the fully faired 250 cc Gixxer which shows the main highlights of the bike.
The TVC shows some of the main highlights of the bikes like the dual channel ABS, it 249 cc oil-cooled engine, sporty clip-on handlebars along with an all-digital instrument cluster. The TVC also shows two of the Suzuki biggies in the form of the Hayabusa and the GSX-R1000 for a short period. This is done to emphasize the point that the quarter-litre Gixxer has been made on the lines of its bigger brothers.
The bike gets a full LED, three-piece headlamp cluster that illuminates the way ahead brightly. The fairing is taut and proportionate which adds to the overall look of the motorcycle. The exhaust canister features a new twin barrel design with chrome tip. The saddle looks sporty and has a split design setup. As already mentioned, The Gixxer 250 comes with clip-on handlebars while the instrument cluster is a fully digital unit. The instrument cluster displays a plaethora of information and is fairly legible under direct sunlight.
Coming to the firepower on this bike, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is powered by a 249 cc, BSIV single-cylinder, oil cooled, SOHC engine that churns out 26 Bhp of power at 9000 rpm along with 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel injected engine has a claimed fuel efficiency rating of 38.5 km/l and the kerb weight of the bike is 161 kg. While 161 kg isn’t exactly light, it is less than most of its other rivals.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 rides on multi-spoke, diamond cut, 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod on with tubeless 110/70 profile tire front and 150/60 tire at the rear. As for the suspension duties, they are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Both the front and the rear wheels get disc brakes. Also present is dual channel ABS, which enhances safety while sudden heavy braking. Suzuki is offering the bike in two shades – Metallic Matte Platinum Silver and Metallic Matte Black. Suzuki is also working on the naked version of the Gixxer 250 too and the bike is expected to be here by the end of this year.
