Royal Enfield Himalayan, the first adventure motorcycle from the iconic brand has quite a number of followers in the Indian market. However, Royal Enfield is the most-preferred brand of motorcycles chosen by the custom garages and here is a Royal Enfield Himalayan that received an extreme modification job by the MRCE Workshop, Kerala.
There have been quite a few modification jobs based on the Royal Enfield Himalayan in the past but this one looks the most extreme in recent times. The motorcycle gets the name 410 EXC and the transformation job includes adding an enduro inspired styling to the tourer. Talking about the modifications, there are many. We will try to highlight as many of them as possible. Looking at the bike, the first modification that you will notice is the aftermarket front headlamp that replaces the regular-looking round headlamp available with the Himalayan. It also gets an enduro-inspired front beak that will ensure that the front mudguard maintains a good distance from the front wheel. The turn indicators are new, they are sleeker and get LED treatment that makes them look quite good.
The modifications also include a new handlebar, which is sourced from Renthal. It allows the rider to sit in the best possible position for the off-road track. Also, the handlebar grip gets a pair of knuckle guards that ensures protection to the fingers and the levers when the bike falls. The fuel tank remains stock but it has been altered by a bit to give a prominent face.
The Himalayan 410 EXC has become a rider-only bike now and there’s no space for the pillion. The custom seat allows a lot of movement, which is essential when it comes to off-roading. Also, the seat is longer and looks well-cushioned to support longer rides. The rear of the bike also gets a customised fender that is finished in the body colour. The tail unit looks beautiful and it gets integrated custom stop lamp with the same sleek LED turn indicators.
In terms of performance, the engine remains stock. The Royal Enfield Himalayan in the stock form gets the 411cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power of 24.5 Bhp and peak torque of 32 Nm. It gets a five-speed transmission.
The only performance-oriented change that we can spot on the bike is the aftermarket exhaust. The unit looks similar to the KTM 390 Duke’s unit. Also, to support the off-roading tracks, the bike also gets knobby, big block tyres that offer a much better grip than the regular tyres. The whole bike gets a beautiful aquamarine paint job while the front fender gets an elaborative stickering job too.
