Maruti Suzuki is working on a range of upcoming products for the Indian market. The largest carmaker in India will launch the 6-seater version of the Ertiga, which will be known as the XL6 in the Indian market. Later in the year, Maruti Suzuki will also launch a few more cars and one of them will be the entry-level hatchback – S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be based on the Future-S concept that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in India.
The all-new S-Presso will be launched sometime around the festive season, which starts in September. The car was spotted testing by Piyush Gaur and we have the pictures to show you. It gets bulky dimensions, which gives it a crossover look. The all-new car will take on the likes of Renault Kwid and Mahindra KUV100 NXT in the market. The exact positioning of the product in the Maruti Suzuki line-up is not known but it will fit somewhere above the all-new WagonR.
The all-new S-Presso has been developed by the Indian arm of the Suzuki and this is the second vehicle, which has been developed right here in India from the Japanese manufacturer. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was the first vehicle that was developed by the Indian arm of Suzuki. It should be noted that India is one of the biggest overseas markets for the Suzuki brand.
The vehicle caught on the test was spotted only from the rear. It should be noted that this is not the first time that the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has been caught testing on the roads. However, the new pictures do reveal the rear design and how the car will look like in production guise. The all-new S-Presso gets a modern design and the front-end is expected to look intimidating with LED headlamps and DRLs. At the rear, the tail lamps are also expected to be full-LED set-up.
On the inside, the car will get the latest SmartPlay Studio infotainment system and earlier spy pictures of the cabin show that it will get a circular design theme. The all-new S-Presso is expected to offer an ample amount of space too. Since it will be based on the latest HEARTECT platform, it will be quite lightweight and will ensure good fuel efficiency. Maruti Suzuki will use the same the 1.2-litre petrol engine that is available with the WagonR to power the upcoming S-Presso. However, it will meet the BS6 norms since the vehicle will be launched close to the deadline.
As for safety, the S-Presso will meet the latest BSVSAP norms. Also, the standard equipment will include driver-side airbag, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, speed warning alert and more.
