Maruti Suzuki, the largest carmaker in India has officially announced a five-year warranty on four of their products. These products include both Arena and Nexa vehicles. From the Arena range, the new 5-year warranty plan is now applicable on the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The S-Cross from the Nexa range is also now available with the new extended 5-year warranty.

The warranty package is applicable on all the four cars for 5-year or 1 lakh kilometre. Earlier, it was 2-year or 40,000 km. The warranty is applicable to the country-wide dealership network of 1,893 towns and cities. While it will be available for the existing customers on a payment for the extended warranty, new car buyers who choose these vehicles will not have to pay any extra cost for the additional benefit.

Commenting on this announcement, Mr Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said,

Dzire, S-Cross, Swift and Vitara Brezza are our flagship products, which played a pivotal role in transforming not just Maruti Suzuki but the Indian automotive industry itself. These marquee brands are loved for their performance by millions of customers and critics alike. These pioneering brands will continue to play a prominent role in our future product portfolio. As a small gesture of our gratitude to the admirers and prospective buyers, we are offering a free 5-year, 1-lakh km warranty on the entire diesel line up of these models to ensure a worry-free ownership experience,”

The new 5-year or 1 lakh warranty plan is applicable to the host of parts and under warranty, these parts will be replaced when found faulty by the brand. The parts that are covered are the high-pressure pump, compressor, Electronic Control Module (ECM), turbocharger assembly, critical engine and transmission parts and other such parts.

Earlier, Maruti Suzuki announced the 5-year warranty coverage for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the Indian market. It should be noted that the sales of the Vitara Brezza fell down last month by a slide. Apart from the slowdown in the market, other factors like the launch of competitors like the Venue caused the sales to slide. Currently, the brand is working to launch the BS6 compliant petrol variant of the Vitara Brezza, which is expected to be launched during the festive season.

Later this month, Maruti Suzuki will launch the 6-seater version of the highly successful Ertiga, which gets the name XL6. Maruti Suzuki is also working on bringing the all-new Jimny for the Indian market, which will become the replacement of the now-discontinued Gypsy. Maruti Suzuki will also launch the Hyundai Creta-rival in the Indian market next year and the vehicle, which is sold as the Vitara in the international markets is expected to be launched.
