Maruti Suzuki XL6 brochure leaked before launch: Features & details revealed

Maruti Suzuki will launch the XL6 MPV in India tomorrow. However, ahead of the launch of the Ertiga based luxury MPV, the brochure of the vehicle has been leaked which reveals quite a lot of information about the car. The XL6 will be priced higher than the Ertiga and will be sold through Nexa dealerships. Bookings for the new MPV are already going on and it can be booked by paying a sum of Rs 11,000 online or at any of the Nexa dealerships.

As seen in these leaked brochure images, courtesy v3cars, the XL6 will be better than the Ertiga in terms of comfort, space, equipment level as well as exteriors. Compared to Ertiga, the XL6 is longer by 50 mm, wider by 40 mm and taller by 10 mm, though wheelbase and boot space remain the same. The car will be offered in two variants, that are Zeta and Alpha. The XL6’s Zeta variant is based on the Ertiga’s Z variant while the XL6 Alpha, which is also the top-end variant, is based on the Ertiga Z+ variant. Automatic transmission will be offered on both variants of the XL6.

The car will be available in a total of 6 colour options to choose from. These include Blue, Khaki, Red, Grey, Silver, and White. On the outside, the XL6 features a much more aggressive design with cladding all-around a quad-LED headlamps. Since it is a bit bigger than the Ertiga, the XL6 also has an imposing road presence. Other exterior highlights include a new front grille, bumper inserts at the front and rear, cladding on the sides, new alloy wheels, roof rails and more cladding on the hatch lid.

The XL6 will offer captain seats in the second row and the legroom is also expected to be greater than the Ertiga. The interiors get plum and black colour scheme which looks good and adds to the premium-ness of the car. The 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system will form a prominent part of the centre console while the steering is a flat bottomed unit.

Powering the XL6 will be a 1.5-litre K-Series engine with a mild-hybrid powertrain. This engine will churn out 104 Bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox which will send power to the front wheels. Though prices of the XL6 will be revealed tomorrow, expect them to start a little under Rs. 10 lakh.

Deliveries of this 6-seater Ertiga based MPV will start from tomorrow itself. With the XL6, Maruti Suzuki aiming at the Mahindra Marazzo and the Toyota Innova Crysta. How well the vehicle performs is something that still remains to be seen though.
