Tata Tiago has proved to be a successful product for the company. Now taking it forward, the Tiago will now get a sport version. The version will be similar to the Bolt Sport that was officially unveiled during Auto Expo earlier this year but due to less popularity of the Bolt, Tata is now planning to work on the Tiago instead.

With the hot hatchback market gaining pace in the recent times, Tiago Sport will be Tata’s entrant in the segment. The Tiago would not get the 1.2-litre Revotron engine from the Bolt, instead, Tata will put a new 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine which is being developed for the upcoming SUV, Nexon. This new engine produces 105 Bhp of maximum power but Tata will tweak the engine to make it more powerful and it will generate around 120 Bhp. The tweaks may include a bigger turbo and changes to electronics in the engine. The Bolt Sport will rival cars like Abarth Punto and upcoming Baleno RS.
The changes may also include lowered suspensions, stiffer dampers, larger alloy wheels and body kit. The changes will make it look very different from the regular Tiago. The car is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
