The year 2019 has been a rollercoaster ride for the Indian automobile industry. With the sales of the market depleting due to the slowdown, the manufacturers have not deterred from launching new products in the market. Starting from January, when Tata launched the all-new Harrier to this month when Renault launched the all-new Triber, we have seen some much-awaited launches in the market. Even though the year has not ended yet, we have a few cars that are clear winners and have shown that the slowdown could not affect the sales. Here are a few cars that have launched this year and have become super hit on the sales charts.

The tall-boy design of the Maruti Suzuki WagonR made it extremely popular since its introduction in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki launched the all-new WagonR earlier this year and the hatchback has become one of the biggest sellers for the manufacturer this year. The all-new WagonR offers more space and also comes with the more powerful 1.2-litre petrol engine, which has attracted a lot of customers.

Hyundai Venue

Hyundai launched the all-new Venue a little late in the segment but it has arrived in a big way in the market. The all-new sub-4 meter compact SUV, Venue takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and in a couple of months, it sold more than the Brezza in the market. The Hyundai Venue offers split headlamp design, which is a fresh breeze of design in the segment. Also, the petrol variants are offered with optional 7-speed DCT, which is unique in the segment.

MG Hector

The MG Hector was launched in the month of September and due to the overwhelming response, the manufacturer had to close down the bookings for the car. Currently, the Hector is the best-selling car in the segment and is outselling the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and even Tata Harrier. The reason? Well, the MG Hector offers value-for-money and a number of never-seen-before features in the segment, which makes it a great choice. The Hector is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options and there is a dual-clutch automatic transmission available with the petrol engine option too.

The Seltos overtook the sales of the long-time favourite, Hyundai Creta in the Indian market and is currently the best-selling car in the segment. It offers as many as 18 variants, which ensures that every kind of buyer gets a choice. Also, the Seltos offers three different engine options and three different automatic transmission options, which again makes for a great choice for customers. Kia announced that they have received more than 50,000 bookings for the Seltos, which is a record in the Indian market.

Mahindra XUV300

Based on the SsangYong Tivoli, Mahindra launched the all-new sub-4m compact SUV earlier this year, which became their best-selling vehicle in the segment yet. This is the third car from the brand in the segment. The Mahindra XUV300 is known for its long list of features including heated ORVMs and dual-zone climate control system. It is also quite spacious and offers the highest torque in the segment with both petrol and diesel engine options.

Launched in July, Hyundai allotted 300 units of the Kona EV to the Indian market. The car is priced at Rs 23.8 lakhs in the market. It is quite surprising to see such a response to an electric SUV in the Indian market.
