Maruti Suzuki recently launched the S-Presso in the Indian market and it is dubbed as a micro SUV by the brand. Even though the S-Presso does not get a 4WD system or even features like the Terrain Response system, the design of the S-Presso is heavily inspired by the SUVs, which is why it gets the name. Well, with the rising popularity of SUVs in India, such vehicles are becoming quite popular. Moreover, manufacturers have even launched crossover versions based on the hatchbacks. In the past, Maruti Suzuki launched the Celerio-X. What if the brand decides to give a similar treatment to the S-Presso? Well, here is a rendering image that shows what the S-Presso X may look like in real life.
The rendering image is made by Shoeb R Kalania for IAB and it really adds the muscular bits to the hatchback. In stock form, the S-Presso’s falt bonnet and straight A-Pillar ensures that it gets all the right SUV-inspired look. Also, the vehicle gets flared wheel arches that further add a muscular look to the vehicle.
The S-Presso X rendering shown here adds quite a few bits and pieces to the vehicle. To start with, the front-end gets a bolder looking skid that now covers almost the whole front bumper of the car. The dual-tone treatment to the bumper further makes it attractive and muscular. On the side, it gets plastic cladding on the wheel arches. The stock S-Presso does not get that and the plastic cladding further makes the vehicle look very sturdy and intimidating. Also, to make it look more attractive, huge S-Presso X stickers have been put on the sides. The stock alloy wheels, which are black in colour have been replaced with new gunmetal alloy wheels. Other visual changes include blacked-out ORVMs, blacked-out roof and roof rails.
These changes sure make the S-Presso look quite intimidating but it would not change the way it behaves on the off-road surfaces. It should be noted that the S-Presso has a similar off-road capability as the Alto in real-life situations. However, it may go further ahead than the Alto due to the raised ground clearance.
Also, such kind of modifications can be done easily through any aftermarket garage. The panels installed on the side of the S-Presso in the rendering image can be fabricated. It will take a little investment but sure will make the S-Presso look much more rugged.
Engine-wise, the S-Presso comes powered by a single option. It gets a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated BS6 compliant engine that generates a maximum power of 68 PS and peak torque of 90 Nm. It gets a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission depending on the variant.
