Mahindra is one of the biggest indigenous manufacturers with a global presence for a few years now. The manufacturer is known for its SUVs, MPVs and other utility vehicles. The company has several new products along with other product updates lined up for future launch. This will include electric vehicles, utility vehicles as well as SUVs. Let’s now take a look at 6 upcoming vehicles from Mahindra along with their renders and images.

Mahindra e-KUV100

First on the list is the e-KUV100, which will also be the first electric vehicle from Mahindra in India and already been showcased to the public. It is based on the regular KUV100 but instead of an IC engine, the e-KUV100 gets a battery pack. Other upgrades include features like remote diagnostics, cabin pre-cooling, real-time location tracking and driving pattern monitoring. Mahindra claims that the e-KUV will have a range of 350 km on a single charge apart from having a 0-100 km/h time of 9 seconds and a top speed of 186 km/h. When launched, it will be one of the cheapest electric cars in India.

Mahindra has big plans for EV space in India and therefore will launch a second electric vehicle in the form of the XUV300 electric. The XUV300 EV is likely to be powered by a 380-volt battery system along with another lower powered unit. The 380-volt battery unit could offer around 250 km range along with a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 11 seconds. As for the top speed, the car is expected to go all the way up to 160 km/h which will easily suffice for normal usage. When launched, it will chiefly rival the Tata Nexon EV among other similar priced EVs.

The 7 seat version of the XUV300 is expected to be called the XUV400 and is currently code-named S204. It’ll slot in between the XUV300 and the XUV500, and is likely to be a much cheaper alternative to the likes of the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta. With three rows of seats, the XUV400 is likely to be aimed at those seeking a compact SUV capable of transporting seven people. The vehicle is likely to borrow the 1.5-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the Marazzo MPV, which will soon get this engine option. The diesel engine is likely to be carried over from the XUV300 though, with bumped up power and torque outputs

Mahindra Thar

One of the most important new vehicles for enthusiasts will be the new Mahindra Thar. Mahindra is expected to take the wraps off this new off-road vehicle during the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. The exteriors, interiors as well as the powertrain of the vehicle will be upgraded. In terms of dimensions, the new Thar will have a substantially bigger footprint than the outgoing model. It will be built on a new chassis and will be powered by a new 2.0-litre diesel engine with a power output of around 130 Bhp. It will also get a hardtop version which comes as a piece of good news for enthusiasts. Apart from this, the cabin will also be updated and will get touchscreen infotainment and front-facing seats among others.

The Scorpio has been one of the main products in Mahindra’s model lineup for nearly two decades now. It will get a generation update next year, something that was long due. The spy shots of the new Scorpio hint towards a more muscular design and the SUV will be larger in size too. The new-gen Scorpio will be underpinned by a new platform that will also be used on the new Thar. The exterior design will be on the lines of the current design but with enough changed to make it feel fresh. The cabin of the new generation Scorpio is likely to feature large touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control and parking cameras among others. Mahindra will use an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine that will be found on the Thar and the XUV500 as well.

The XUV500 has been going on for long without a major update and the same is set to happen in 2020. Spyshots of the new XUV500 have already surfaced and they show that the SUV has a similar silhouette. Mahindra has taken the evolutionary rather than revolutionary route in terms of design. In terms of body dimensions, the new XUV500 will be larger in size and will get an updated front end design apart from cabin upgrades. Also present will be an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine that will churn out around 180 Bhp of power on this SUV. Both automatic and manual gearbox options are expected on the new XUV500.
